We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives. ~ John F. Kennedy

THANK YOU. That’s all. For the things we still hold dear.  Pure gratitude for the art & craft & heft of a human story beautifully told.  The ability to think, express, and understand.  Your support. Here’s what else we are grateful for as 2016 fades.

DARAJA GIRLS: Powerful Beyond Measure

Many friends and supporters came out for our new Daraja film premiere this spring.  DARAJA GIRLS: Powerful Beyond Measure debuted in NYC.  Thank you, Amanda Gilgeours and Black Employees at Time Warner, Bradley Silver, and journalistic powerhouse Carol Jenkins for moderating the Q&A.

And most of all, Deborah Santana for inviting us to create a third edition of this series chronicling the wonder of high school girls in Kenya who are transforming our world.  And to Lou Fazio, Mare Mazur, Ariel Carpenter, Paula Brynen, JP Shields, Emily Merkley, and the team at KCET Link who broadcast the entire series following our west coast premiere at the Women’s Independent Film Festival in Los Angeles.  Thanks to Jazz Smollett for once again hosting us.

Exciting to share this work with school children at Lincoln Center’s New York African Film Festival Youth Matinee screening. Our appreciation to Mahen Bonetti.

Also fun to screen for local audiences at a favorite cinematic landmark, the restored Pelham Picture House in Westchester, NY. Thanks to director of programming Clayton Bushong.
